Christine Nelson Musical Director
Christine has had a love of music and singing from an early age but didn’t actually sing in a choir until she was 27. As a teenager she sang in folk clubs and was an instrumentalist at school and college, playing trumpet, clarinet and flute.
As a classroom teacher and music co-ordinator Christine trained many children’s choirs. Before retiring in 2018, she enjoyed a successful career as a vocal and guitar tutor for Stockport Music Service.
Christine discovered the joys of choral conducting through her training with Sing for Pleasure for whom she has regularly tutored. She took over her first adult choir in 1994 and has not looked back.
She graduated as a Naked Voice Facilitator in 2012, working with both children and adults to release and express the inner voice.
She recently retired as the musical director of the hugely successful N-Choir in Bramhall and also sings alto with the international touring choir Sine Nomine.
It has long been her dream to spend more time doing what she loves most, and now with SoundingOutUK this has become a reality.
